Family-owned and operated, GAD Art & Fabrication is an artisanal and luxury metal fabrication studio that focuses on creating unique works of art, handcrafted furniture and architectural elements. With over 35 years of experience in the metal industry, founder Gonzalo Algarate has been producing outstanding sculptural pieces for interior designers, architects, furniture designers, artists, high-end real estate contractors and art advisors. Native to Uruguay, he first learned the art of sculpting, lost-wax process and bronze patinas and finishes with sculptor Robert Graham. It was at Graham’s studio that he perfected his handle on welding, patination of metals and metal forming, working on various civic monuments, including the Monument to Joe Louis, the Duke Ellington Memorial and The Great Bronze Doors of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Branching out into metal fabrication in 1997, Algarate started creating custom handcrafted furniture and architectural pieces. In the 1980s, Ursula Hauser, co-founder and director of a family retail business in Switzerland, developed an interest in contemporary art and began acquiring modern masters, which turned into a true passion. Known for giving new life to historic buildings, Hauser & Wirth now have over 15 locations in Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Monaco and Hong Kong. As a pioneering, multipurpose art center, the Los Angeles gallery, located in Downtown’s Arts District… READ MORE Share your experience with #HauserWirth
