Lynda Murray: Master of contemporary interior design
Specializing in very high-end contemporary design, Lynda Murray’s interior design firm LMID, inc. designs homes and offices that raise their expression of themselves through style, materials and use of space. Paying extra attention to good lighting and scale, Murray’s designs reach a high level of sophistication and luxury. “I love clean lines and monochromatic neutral tones with a splash of color.” At the age of 16, Lynda Murray started working with a designer on her own bedroom, choosing fabrics, furniture and art. She quickly realized that she wanted to pursue a career in interior design and went on to complete UCLA’s Interior and Environmental Design program. Listening to her father’s business advice, Murray was able to make the right career choices. She has now been designing homes for 25 years, collaborating with acclaimed architects like Paul McClean and Chad Oppenheim, and helped by her team of women from all around the world. “I pride myself on empowering females of all ages. We had the pleasure of interviewing Paul McClean, the architect behind some of the most spectacular contemporary residences in Southern California. Founded in 2000, McClean Design is a leading residential design firm in Los Angeles with a commitment to environmentally sustainable design practices. Paul McClean has imagined homes for Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Calvin Klein and Avicii. He also designed The One, the famous ultra-luxurious 105,000-square-foot Bel Air mega-mansion.
